Flat vs. Textured

Here you will see two different colorings of Gus (an early design).  In order to stand out from South Park we will have photo real textures making up the characters, including textures for clothing, skin pigment, and hair.  We' feel that this will be fun and will help the characters blend in with the background instead of feeling like a flash file floating over a photograph.
When placed upon a photo real BG.

The textured character seems to more naturally be a part of the BG which consists of the similar textured elements.  I think this will give us a unique and different look than South Park.

New Character Designs

Here are some of the sample character designs.   I have worked with Serapio to get to version 12 which which doesn't look so much like south park (variations in height- when your 12 or 13 your best friend can be a whole foot taller than you which I think is funny), but still has functionality in cutout animation. I also like having Doug being the runt of the pack- since he is the voice of reason - his friends look older but they act more immature getting them into trouble. No one listens to Doug because he is little is an ongoing conflict. I like set 12a the best.

From left to right Doug, Gus, Wiggy and Irv.

Here are some samples of the New character designs for Exit 9 (working title).
